Keechakavadha, one of the popular stories in the epic Mahabharata was recently staged by Pasumarthy Venkateswara Sarma. This traditional dance ballet was presented by the Indian Council for cultural relations. Held at the Tyagaraya Gana Sabha, this performance captivated and enthralled the young and the old alike. Under the auspices of Bala Tripura Sundari Natyamandali, the episode of 'Mahishasura Mardhani', taken from Devi Bhagavatam, was put on boards as an exhilarating ballet in Kalakhethram recently. Pasumarthy Venkateswara Sarma a veteran dance master composed the ballet, which was relate with apt lyricism and natural acumen. (21St Feb., 1987)

The stunning show and highlights of the dance drama, Mahishasura Mardhani, were script , songs, direction and the main roll Mahishasura by Pasumarthy Venkateswara Sarma. He was an athletic physique, extremely suitable for the roll Mahishasura. When he comes on to the stage, he has stunning effect on the audience. As Mahishasura, he showed the arrogance of the powerful supposedly indestructible Rakhasa even in his walk, his stance and his gaze. (18th Sep., 1996)
